FINAL CALL FOR PERFORMERS. Hi folks for those of you who may not know, each year Wickham Works dreams up, builds, and produces a unique Haunted House as a fundraiser for the WV Community Center’s youth programs. We invite the community to take part - making sets, performing, and of course providing an audience. We will have one final information session for any interested PERFORMERS this Friday, 10/19, 5pm at the Center, 11 Hamilton Ave., Warwick. Adults and teens welcome. Hours for teens count as Community Service. At Warwick Valley Prevention Coalition, we envision a world where everyone has the opportunity to give back and make a positive impact in their communities.

The Warwick Valley Prevention Coalition (WVPC) was initiated in 2009 by the joint efforts of the Warwick Valley Community Center and the Warwick Valley School District. The Town of Warwick Police Department joined the coalition shortly after it began. Both the police and the school district have remained committed to the Coalition. Over its 10 years of existence, the WVPC has become a well-recognized resource for the Warwick Valley School District, parents, students, community members, and the media looking for information and programs about alcohol and other drugs; including signs, symptoms, effects, and current local and national trends; youth violence and self-harm; and prevention tools.
In September 2018, after receiving a Mentoring Grant two years prior, with help from the Vernon Coalition, the Warwick Valley Prevention Coalition was awarded the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grant for $600,000 over the next 5 years. We received a second 5-year DFC Grant in 2023. This has enabled us to hire full-time staff to work towards achieving our goals and our mission of reducing substance misuse and a healthy drug-free community.
We would love to hear from you!!
