Please join us Tuesday, May 11th for a very special Panel Discussion via Zoom (See details below). In Celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, NAMI Orange County Presents:Addiction and Mental Illness: A Panel Discussion Featuring Young Adults sharing their personal stories.

Questions from the audience will be taken at the end of the presentation.

We are using Demi Lavato’s Anyone to inspire us, and cast a voice for people that are experiencing addiction, whether addiction to drugs, alcohol, food, self-harm– or anything else, since addiction can take many forms.

Our panel will be sharing their personal stories, as individuals recovered from addiction, and as family members or friends of recovered individuals. One of the most important elements of Recovery is being heard—which is illustrated by Demi Lovato’s song ANYONE.

As Demi sings:
Confided into alcohol.
I tried and tried and tried some more.
Told secrets ’til my voice was sore.
Tired of empty conversation.
‘Cause no one hears me anymore.
Nobody’s listening to me

The above lyrics really illustrate the isolation that many individuals experiencing addiction challenges feel when in the depths of the disease. Please join us as our Panel shares their personal stories in order to shed a light on Addiction and Mental Illness, and be Heard!
